The Green-breasted Mango (Anthracothorax prevostii) is a vibrant hummingbird, known for its iridescent green and blue plumage, with males exhibiting a brilliant green coloration on their upperparts and a contrasting metallic blue or violet on their throats. They are of moderate size, measuring approximately 4 to 4.5 inches in length, with a compact and streamlined body, and a long, slender bill adapted for extracting nectar from flowers. The species is assessed as being of Least Concern by the IUCN, with an estimated population of at least half a million mature individuals, though this is believed to be decreasing. Its distribution extends from southern Mexico through Costa Rica and Panama.
